ABOUT MR. GRID
I’m Mr.Grid, a tattoo artist based in Rocky Hill and serving all of Hartford County, Connecticut. I’ve spent over 20 years developing a style rooted in dark, macabre, and black and grey work — pieces that carry weight, atmosphere, and movement. My focus has always been on creating tattoos that feel alive on the body, not flat or generic.
A big part of my process is freehand design. I draw directly on the skin when the piece calls for it, shaping the tattoo to the client’s anatomy in real time. This creates flow and structure that stencils alone can’t achieve. I don’t reuse designs. I don’t repeat concepts. If you book with me, you’re getting something built specifically for you — nothing watered down or pulled from a folder.
I work with people who want tattoos with depth, attitude, and presence. Clients who understand the value of taking the time to build something strong. Whether it’s skulls, bone structures, anatomy, horror elements, or grim atmospheric pieces, I push for clarity, longevity, and body-fit in everything I create.
For me, tattooing isn’t about perfect symmetry or digital polish. It’s about energy. Movement. Flow. The rawness of a piece that wraps the body like it was always meant to be there. My goal is simple:
Create work that stands out now — and still hits hard 20 years from now.
MY APPROACH
Dark & Macabre Focus
Skulls, bone, anatomy, horror, distortion, shadows — anything with weight and mood.
Freehand Application
When a piece needs stronger flow or movement, I draw it by hand directly on the skin.
It builds a more natural shape — not stiff, not forced.
Black & Grey Execution
Smooth gradients, bold contrast, strong aging — built for long-term clarity.
Custom Only
Every tattoo is designed with intention. No recycled art. No trend-chasing.
Just real work made from scratch.
Body-Driven Design
The body determines the composition. Not the other way around.
